Before Sea of Thieves found its way into the hands and hearts of sailors across the globe, Rare was quoted saying that the game's first Pirate Legend was expected to arrive just a couple of weeks after the game was released. As it turns out they weren't far from the truth, as Twitch streamer Prod1gyX has become the first player (that we know of) to max out all three in-game factions and become a Pirate Legend.
According to a report from Eurogamer, Prod1gyX has been working hard on each of the game's different factions, gradually ranking up through the usual bouts of treasure acquisition and old-fashioned skeleton eradication. It was only just earlier today that the streamer finally hit rank 50 in all factions, which means a quick trip to the Mysterious Stranger was all that was separating Prod1gyX and other Sea of Thieves players from getting a closer look at what happens when Legendary status is achieved.
Players who want to keep the Sea of Thieves endgame a secret should skip to the final paragraph, as some of this information below could be considered a spoiler.

What happens when Pirate Legend status is achieved? Well, the Mysterious Stranger is quick to reward the player with a new title, a new shanty, and a sleek new legendary outfit. More than that, the Pirate Legend is also faced with a new riddle. Forgoing the specific details, the solution involves playing the new shanty in front of the Stranger, which causes a new legendary hideout to become accessible. Within, players can speak with the Pirate Lord, who will dole out new quests that are largely similar to those offered by the primary factions.
Naturally, not all Sea of Thieves fans are particularly impressed by the rewards on offer for achieving Pirate Legend status. Still, in a game like this, one could easily argue that it's more about the journey than the destination, and it's fair to say that Prod1gyX seems to have enjoyed his time spent searching the seas so far. For what it's worth, many of us here at Shacknews have as well, which is partly how we've managed to forge such a robust Sea of Thieves guide hub.
