Hello all that are viewing this thread. I have a few questions. I am new the the clan and have been playing on a *cough* 2 core *cough* 4Gb *cough* laptop. Like it is so bad that you could plug a mouse and and keyboard into a big fat pile of shit and it would get better FPS on games. It is so bad that I get literally 5 fps on Dayz. I want to get a real gaming desktop. I want to be able to play games on it like I would a console. They don't have to be spectacular graphics i just want to be able to play games and not die. I want to build a PC but i am afraid i would mess it up and it would turn out shit. I have asked several friends, @Tallwitguy7 , for specs and he has given them to me and he says you will do fine. But i don't want to fuck up. Pre-built or DYI PC? I play WoW, Dayz, etc... I would play other games but i just simply cant. I do not want to go far over 1k on my budget but i just need help. Monitor, keyboard, and mouse will be taken care of before hand. I plan on gettin it for christmas so I have time to plan. Thank you for your help if you can.

If I was you, I would rather build one myself. It's still a long time till Christmas. Spend this time learning about the "DOs" and "DON'Ts" of building a custom PC.
If you are not as confident in yourself when handling sensitive computer parts, then check this out. If you do live in ATL, then you can pick it up at the Mall of Georgia.
iBuyPower and CyberPower with similar specifications costs ~$950 + a $75 UPS Ground delivery, which puts it over $1000.

I totally wasnt drooling over the 980 and the new 2011-v3 the past weeks.
Anyways, getting away from my severe dehydration, I suggested he went with an i3, a MSI 760, 16gb ram, a 3tb HDD (because its $110, you cant beat the price), and the Corsair C70 case- its tough, and it has good airflow already. I had to include the monitor and the mouse/keys in the one grand price ceiling.
Its not going to be anything super fancy, but with the new 970, if he ends up getting a couple extra hundred dollars, He could go from running Dayz at 30+ to pushing the refresh rate of his monitor.

Right now as it sits, his PC will run about 1236 shipped TO ME (1104 beforehand), with probably an extra 50$ to ship it to him after I have finished building it.
This includes:
Windows 7, Runtime Error
an MSI 760, Runtime Error
a Seagate 3tb barracuda, Runtime Error
an intel i3 4150 3.5GHZ CPU, Runtime Error
a Gigabyte G1 Sniper Mobo ( Gotta love sales),Runtime Error
the Corsair c70 case, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139013
CM storm Keys/mouse combo, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129030
16gb of 1866 ram by corsair (It was an extra 5$ over the standard speed.) , http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233536
asus DVD read/writer, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135305
EVGA 750 watt PSU, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438028
and an ACER s220hqlabd monitor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009316

Without the monitor, keyboard and mouse, he saves an extra $150, so the total price drops down to 1076 shipped to me. (992 beforehand)
He should be bale to run his two main games- Dayz Mod, and WoW- at medium/high settings and a livable rate.

Now, if he were to get and extra $300 ($150 above the first listed price, factoring in his non-need for monitor, keys/mouse), he could:
get a corsair 128gb SSD, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233681
and upgrade to the new 970 (again by MSI, that Twin Frozr man) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127832
AND get an i5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116989

If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line on here, or if you see me on TS, either the Apocalypse Ends DAYZ TS, or the Fever Clan TS.
