Out of the ones you have linked, I think that the Benq is the best for gaming. It has a low 2ms response time and seems overall quite good for gaming. The design doesn't look very nice though. (IMO)
The Dell should have the best picture quality as it is an IPS display but is not as suitable for gaming. It has a higher 8ms response time, which, when you are constantly flicking around the screen in BF3 for example, may not react in the way you want it to. However, if you want to watch movies on it, it should be the best. It also has the portrait mode, which you most likely won't use.
The LG looks the best (IMO). It has a reasonable response time (5ms) and images should look good on it. This is proabably the better overall monitor.

The monitors you have picked are all around 250. You can get a good monitor for half that price if you look around. I'm currently using a LG Flatron W2361V which is a 23" LCD monitor, 2ms response time. It cost me 115. (I got it cheap, usually sells around 140). It's discontinued now, but just shows you don't have to spend too much.

EDIT: This seems like a good cheap overall monitor: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-E2351VR-BN-inch-11-9mm-Monitor/dp/B005JRIPC4/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1343496836&sr=1-1

I says looks at ASUS Monitors,
There MODES are amazing. But they are more money then others because there Contrast Ratio is High i have 10,000,000:1 and 50,000,000:1 (Not all have High Contrast Ratio)

I have heard good things about benq and Dell.

Note:
Contrast Ratio = White Whites; Blacker Blacks

Personally I would go Acer. They make good monitors for cheap. You can find some good deals on 1080p 20-23 inch for around 120-130 USD
