So, I bought today a new monitor : Asus VS278Q 27 inches and the problem is that the colors are just awful somehow. It's either too bright or too dark, it isn't like on my last monitor and I can't use it with those shitty colors. I tried looking on internet but couldn't find solution, can someone help me please.

The best site i know for such issues is
LCD monitor test images
Try some tests from there and see if you can find a good setting.
Read carefully and you could get some important information and gain knowledge.

If that doesn't help you could look here
https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/asus-vg248qe/

What I found in addition are these settings:
Link to the thread - gaming monitor: 24 or 27? - Page 2 - [H]ard|Forum

Standard Mode
Contrast - 80
Brightness - 33
Red Green Blue - 95 100 92

Tested the ICC profile from here ICC Profiles and Monitor Settings Database ?

A simple calibration of your screen described
VG248QE OSD Setup And Calibration

Also here are several configurations posted
Asus VE278Q Calibrations And Settings

If you can't get it working even close with any of these I would honestly think there's some hardware failure...

Question: How you're connecting the screen?

EDIT: Wrong screens linked, sorry... that said, I'm not deleting the links because they're interesting in general.

Ah sorry for that... Asus names his screens too similar for my taste and google thinks its over clever... I should look better.

That said, have you tried the preset for Asus VG278HE from the ICC profile site?

Different things you could test:
1. Try another cable although I don't think that's the issue
2. Try the screen on another pc. Is it looking the same way? Most likely the screen has an issue. The weird look is gone? Then we could check some further things.

Well, on another screen it is the same. Will try the preset now

fuck it, I'll just need to get used to this
No, actual I'm pretty sure you don't have to.
Bought the screen online from a German reseller?
Then you can simply send it back without the need to give a reason within a range of two weeks after you got it (NOT purchased it).
"Fernabsatzgesetz" is that called in Germany, don't know if "Distance Selling Act" is more common for you.

Nah, doesn't matter, I put the monitor on sRGB preset now, looks somewhat good so will stick with it. Thanks anyways. I bought it on Amazon.de actualy.
