Microsoft 365 ‘Life’ is reportedly launching in spring 2020 with Office, password manager, and more

Microsoft has been leading up to launching a consumer version of its Microsoft 365 subscription for months. The Verge originally revealed that the company was planning a “for life” version of its Teams software earlier this year, and now ZDNet reports that the Microsoft 365 consumer subscription is currently named “M365 Life.”

These subscriptions will reportedly largely be a rebranding of what is currently known as Office 365 Personal and Home, but ZDNet claims a password manager will also be bundled. This will be particular useful for consumers, especially when Microsoft recently discovered that 44 million Microsoft Accounts have passwords that have been reused and leaked in various databases of 3 billion passwords.

Microsoft has also been working on a “for life” version of Microsoft Teams, which includes features like sending locations, shared family calendars, and document sharing. This will likely be bundled as part of the Microsoft 365 Life subscription.

It’s not clear whether this will mean any significant changes to the price of the existing Office 365 Personal and Home subscriptions. Microsoft will reportedly launch this consumer version in spring 2020, which ties in nicely to the company’s Build conference or even a potential separate Surface / Windows event to dive deeper into Windows 10X and Surface Neo. Microsoft’s Surface Earbuds are also scheduled to arrive in the spring after a mysterious delay.

Riot is teaming with outside studios to make single-player League of Legends games

League of Legends studio Rise up Video games just lately introduced plans to transport past the mega-MOBA League of Legends with a pile of latest video games together with a combating recreation, an FPS, a card recreation, or even a control sim. However additionally it is taking a look to expand the enchantment and footprint of League of Legends with a brand new publishing label introduced these days referred to as Rise up Forge, during which it’s going to spouse with different builders to create “bespoke video games that permit gamers of every kind to enjoy League in new and thrilling techniques.”

The FAQ at riotforgegames.com says that Rise up Forge releases can be “completable,” which Rise up’s Bret Forbus nailed down extra exactly on Twitter as “single-player/story-driven video games” set in LoL’s Runeterra universe. There aren’t any specifics but on particular person initiatives or companions, however Rise up mentioned that its focal point is on operating with “skilled” unbiased studios, and that construction of a few initiatives is already underway.

“Our builders are nonetheless early within the procedure of constructing those nice video games,” the FAQ states. “After they’re just a little additional alongside, we’ll announce the video games that they’re making.”

The initiative might be very similar to the person who resulted in Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda, the 2019 rhythm roguelike developed by Crypt of the Necrodancer studio Brace Yourself Games and published by Nintendo. It’s not an obvious crossover, and definitely not something expected from Nintendo, but in spite of that it came together quite well.

At least one of the promised game reveals is coming soon: Geoff Keighley said on Twitter that a Riot Forge project will be revealed next week at The Game Awards. We’ll be covering the big show as it happens on December 12, beginning at 5:30 pm PT/8:30 pm ET.

Terrifying Co-Op Survival Horror 'GTFO' Hits Early Access Next Week

he ridiculously-named co-op survival horror GTFO is coming to Steam early next week. Developer 10 Chambers Collection previously promised that the game would release by the end of the year, and it'll soon be delivering on that promise. The unique horror shooter enters Steam Early Access on Monday, December 9th. The studio reckons the game will spend about a year there before graduating to "proper" release.

10 Chambers took to Steam to explain that GTFO will be an Early Access title so that it can try out new co-op challenges and puzzles on the "poor, unsuspecting community". The developer will also be using the time to work on the number of enemies, objectives, and environments, and there are also plans to introduce gear progression systems and character customisation features.

GTFO has been in development for around four years now. First announced back in 2017, it's described as a survival horror shooter for four players, with a focus on team play and atmosphere. According to the studio , it also features "edge-of-your-seat suspense, team-based puzzle-solving and high-intensity combat".

Friends will have to work together in the PvE title to make it through a number of rotating missions. Your main objective is fairly simple: get past hordes of deadly enemies while exploring an underground complex in search of the exit so you can extract with the whole team. There are various other tasks you'll need to complete along the way, though.

While 10 Chambers does acknowledge that the game is technically a shooter, there's a lot more stealth and puzzle solving going on in GTFO than you might expect from something of that description. That's not to say that there aren't moments of tense, full-on action though. When the beasts descend - and they will - all you can really do is spray and pray. And run. And maybe have a little cry.

In essence, it looks like my favourite kind of game. One where you and your mates spend ages coming up with a plan, and you have the thrill of seeing it all come together until the last moment. That is, until everything falls apart and you're forced to run around shooting at everything in the vain hope that you don't die.

The Outlast Trials is a 4-player co-op horror game from the Outlast team

The next game in the Outlast series is a four-player co-op horror game called The Outlast Trials. Developer Red Barrels announced its next project in a press release, confirming that The Outlast Trials is "still in the early stages of production" but that it plans to share more news about it soon. Until then, here's what Red Barrels is willing to divulge so far.

The Outlast Trials is set in the same horrifying fictional universe as Outlast and Outlast 2, but it will predate them by quite a bit: it's set place in the "middle of the Cold War era", so probably sometime in the late '60s or '70s. Players will be able to participate in The Outlast Trials on their own if they prefer the solitary experience of the previous games, though it's being designed to support co-operative play for up to four participants at once. Red Barrels also shared this art for the game, which includes the tagline "Where Freedom Ends".

The art shows three people all back to back in a dark room with a totalitarian-looking logo in the background. Each of the people is wearing a strange goggle apparatus on their face, a tagged bracelet, and a dark jumpsuit, while the one in the middle is reaching up to grab the outstretched hand of an otherwise unseen fourth person. The tagline and grasping hand motif line up with a previous teaser from Red Barrels.

The goggles might have you wondering if The Outlast Trials is also a VR project, but Red Barrels already shut that idea down in a comment on its official Facebook page.

“Our team is hard at work creating a new experience that will bring fear and anxiety to millions of players, whether they go through the experiments alone or with friends," studio co-founder David Chateauneuf said in the statement. “Now we’ve done our proof of concept, it is time to focus on content creation, variety… and gore."
