Bee: Like many spotlights, it always starts with finding out how you found fever and how it began.
Phoenix_Ace: I was a console scrub for the longest time having a terrible laptop, bought a pre-built pc mainly for OSRS and Recording/graphical use, got bored of being alone looked up communities and Fever's the one that stood out the most.

Bee: Were you an active member to start or just more of a lurker?
Phoenix_Ace: I think I was active? Can't remember, due to anxiety I started slow but then when I got to talking to people I figured this community was right so I offered my help in any way I could.

Bee: Is there anything that you fondly remember here in Fever?
Phoenix_Ace: Mainly the Support I received in the start from the officers+ about joining game night and not being nervous, Fever has helped my social anxiety quite a bit since joining.

Bee: What got you into doing graphics? Is it more of a hobby or a job?
Phoenix_Ace: Hobby, I loved drawing so I decided to try digital art. I first got more invested when I started youtube.

Bee: What part of the interview process do you enjoy the most and what part do you
Phoenix_Ace: Getting to know someone new never a dull moment here, as for dislikes I'd say having to decline an application cause the applicant changed their minds.

Bee: Can you remember the point at which you started to game, was it before the days
Phoenix_Ace: Yes, I played a lot of Mario on Nintendo. After we got a SNES and The Legend of Zelda a Link to the past my love for gaming arose.

Bee: Do you play anything of recent, or just like being active on discord chat?
Phoenix_Ace: I play a lot of Misc. Games but I also play Overwatch and ESO.

Bee: What’s the most addicted to a game you’ve ever been?
Phoenix_Ace: Is it considered addicted when I've bought the same few games on 4 different consoles and my PC? If so then very I have too many hours on Skyrim and Dark souls (Combined with console and PC Hours.)

Bee: How many hours do you put in your main game a week?
Phoenix_Ace: Not enough, 5-6?

Bee: Is there anything besides gaming that you are a fan of? Like Books/Comics, Netflix shows, Anime?
Phoenix_Ace: Manga, when I'm not gaming or watching youtube I'm reading Manga, I've read well over 100 Different Manga and should update my list.

Bee: Any Goals? Or just living as things come?
Phoenix_Ace: Living as things come.

Bee: Random question here, do you enjoy chips and cola or not really?
Phoenix_Ace: Love chips, Cola is good.

Bee: Lastly is there any advice or quotes you'd want to pass off to fellow members?
Phoenix_Ace: My main advice would be, If you need help do not be afraid to ask someone for help. Treat others how you want to be treated.

Sony PS5 leaks and rumours: release date, price and specs
We couldn't be much more excited for the Sony PlayStation 5. Indeed, since PS5 lead system architect Mark Cerny broke cover and spilled the beans officially on the next-gen console, revealing specs, features and capabilities, our appetite has been well and truly whetted for Sony's next-gen console.

On top of Cerny's recent info bomb (which can be consumed below) every leak and report we've seen so far – and we've logged them all here – suggests Sony is working on something truly special in the PS5, something to ensure that its dominance in this console generation follows through into the next.

Along the way that means scalping Microsoft's next Xbox, codenamed Scarlett, with a bombastic series of blows that leaves the various versions of the Xbox Two reeling, no matter what Microsoft decides to bring to the party. After what we've just officially discovered about the system (see below), that mission seems to be well and truly underway.

With such an impressive list of hardware, features and games incoming, we're expecting a level of hype like we've never seen before for a console launch. It should all come to a head next year, and we've got a full and comprehensive look at what's on the way right here.

Basic Information:

On April 16, 2019 US tech site Wired published an exclusive interview and briefing with PS5 lead system architect Mark Cerny that contained official announcements about the PlayStation 5. These included that:

1.) Cerny confirmed that Sony's "next-gen console" will not launch in 2019. 2020 is the currently rumoured release date. He did not refer to the console as the PS5 or PlayStation 5, although Sony's traditional console naming system would indicate that is what it will be called.

2.) Cerny confirmed that the PS5's CPU is based on the third generation of AMD's Ryzen line of processors and features eight cores of the firm's new 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture.

3.) The PlayStation 5's GPU has been confirmed by Cerny as a custom variant of Radeon's Navi family and will support ray tracing (a next-gen lighting technique that models the travel of light in complex game worlds).

4.) Cerny also confirmed the AMD chip in the PS5 has a custom 3D audio unit that will deliver far more immersive in-game sound.

5.) The PlayStation VR headset will be compatible with the PS5 and, although Cerny would not comment on whether a new PSVR headset was incoming, he did say that "VR is very important to us".

6.) Cerny confirmed the PlayStation 5 would come installed with an SSD out of the box, and then demoed a PS5 dev kit loading the game Spider-Man, which was shown to load eighteen times faster than on PS4.

7.) Cerny confirmed that thanks to the new SSD, the PS5 would be able to render 2D worlds much faster than PS4, too, meaning that gamers will get larger game worlds and be able to move through them faster while fidelity is maintained.

8.) Cerny confirmed that the PlayStation 5 will support 8K graphics, although in what capacity and if that will be native 8K remains to be seen.

Sony is skipping E3 2019 this year. Could that be because it is hard at work preparing to launch the PS5?

As the PlayStation 3 came out in 2006, and was followed by the PlayStation 4 in 2013, rumours circulated for months that the PlayStation 5 would launch around 2020.

Comments made by President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America, Shawn Layden, who stated that "there will be no new hardware announcements at E3" in 2018, seemingly indicated at a sooner rather than later release date, too.

However, on 22 May 2018, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment John Kodera confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that there would be no PS5 before 2021, putting a dampener on hopes for an imminent PlayStation 5 release.

Since then, Sony seems to have shifted its thinking. With the Xbox Two aka Xbox Scarlett tipped for a 2020 launch, the PS5 launch date seems to have been adjusted to 2020, with some analysts thinking the PS5 will go head to head against the Xbox Two at E3 2020.

Borderlands 3 will have a new elemental damage type: Radiation

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has been answering fan questions ever since the Borderlands 3 reveal at PAX East. Pitchford recently answered a fan Tweet, confirming that Borderlands 3 will not have the elemental type “Slag” but instead feature a radiation-based element.

For those of you who don’t know, Slag is an element that was introduced in Borderlands 2, it is a by-product of the Eridium refinement process. Slag elemental weapons coat enemies in slag. Slagged targets take increased damage from other weapons.

When a fan asked whether or not Borderlands 3 will feature Slag, Pitchford confirmed that Borderlands will have an alternative to slag.

There is no slag - we replaced it with something that actually makes a little sense. The new “element” damage type, which is like a nuclear radiation effect, has a similar effect to slag (increased vulnerability by those affected) and also has a damage-over-time component.
Elemental types in the Borderlands franchise are known by their effects instead of their sources, this is another reason why Gearbox is implementing a nuclear radiation based element type. Pitchford believes that a nuclear radiation based elemental type would work best in Borderlands 3.

Right now, no one knows what kind of in-game damage effect this new element will yield. It could be similar to the Fire element that does damage over time or even the Shock element which does extra damage to shields and can crowd control an enemy. Fans of the Borderlands series will remember Corrosive, which burns through armor faster, and Explosive, which deals damage in the blast radius.

Whatever may be the case, it is likely Radiation will go well with these other damage types.

Recently, it was also confirmed that the fan-favorite voice actor, Troy Baker, won’t be reprising his role as Rhys in Borderlands 3. Baker confirmed that it was Gearbox’s decision and not his own. Of course, fans were disappointed but it is likely that Gearbox will find some way to make it up to the fans. Let’s wait and see.

XIII, the cel-shaded shooter starring bored David Duchovny, is getting a remake

Publisher Microids has announced via the PlayStation Blog that they will be teaming up with Play Magic Ltd. to remake XIII. The PS2-era shooter was originally put out in 2003 by Ubisoft and was an early example of the cel-shaded look popularized by The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. The announcement comes with a teaser trailer that will remind you of a more stylish James Bond intro sequence.

XIII puts you in the shoes of a talented soldier who is suffering from amnesia. Coincidentally, he also stands accused of killing the President of the United States. When you wake up, the only clue to your identity is a tattoo on your shoulder that says “XIII”. From there, you engage in a solo campaign that tests your shooting as well as your stealth skills.

The cel-shaded graphics make the style of this game feel timeless. XIII looks just like a comic book and they use the comic book-like nature to great effect. If you do something like land a headshot from a long distance, then comic panels will pop up to show you the impact in greater detail.

Microids‘ press release does not mention multiplayer, which was included in the 2003 release. XIII originally supported up to 16-player multiplayer in standard game modes like Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. There were also platform specific modes like The Hunt (PC, PS2, and GameCube) and Sabotage (Xbox and PC). That said, the campaign is the real selling point here, so Microids might not view the multiplayer as very important to the remake.

XIII will be out on November 13, 2019, for Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster for PC Release On May 23

Assemble Entertainment announced that S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster officially launches on the PC this May 23. A gameplay trailer was released Wednesday, which is interesting as April 17 is the same date of the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion.

S.W.I.N.E., which stands for Strategic Warfare In a Nifty Environment, is a real-time tactics video game originally released in 2001. Players can choose to play the game as pigs or rabbits. The game focuses mainly on real-time tactics, which mean that there is no need to construct buildings or gather resources. Players are given what are called Strategic Points, which can be used to buy new units or even trigger special abilities.

S.W.I.N.E. begins with General Iron Tusk overthrowing the Republic of Pigs. After taking control, the General turns his sights on Carrotland and its citizens, the Rabbits.

The game is divided into two campaigns. Beginners can choose to play the rabbit campaign, which focuses on the General’s initial attack on Carrotland and the rabbits’ attempts to block the army’s supply lines. For more experienced players, the pig campaign offers greater difficulty and deals with the General’s fight against the rebels of New Porkshire as well as the initial attack on Carrotland.

For the upcoming S.W.I.N.E HD Remaster, new features include:

Remastered graphics:

S.W.I.N.E HD Remaster boasts a redesigned interface adjusted to 16:9 aspect ratio, along with detailed unit texture. Extended graphics settings are available: anti-aliasing, v-sync, screen selection, and full-screen mode.

Improved game experience:

Tons of bug fixes, extended zoom, improved unit ordering, and plenty of other updates bring the game into the modern age.

Multiplayer is back:

Travel back to the good old days with your friends and play this unique landmark of a game either online or on LAN.

A Kickstarter for a game that's basically hentai Mass Effect has raised over a million dollars

Studio FOW, who have attracted controversy for producing CG porn starring videogame characters, have turned to Kickstarter to fund a game of their own. Called Subverse, they describe it as "a tactical RPG/SHMUP hybrid" where you're the captain of a spaceship called the Mary Celeste and have to assemble a crew. It sounds kind of like Mass Effect 2, only with more explicit sex.

At the time of writing it has raised the equivalent of over $1,200,000 in US dollars, and still has nine days left in its Kickstarter campaign.

Subverse will apparently be "at least a 20 hour game" with two different combat systems, one arcade-style for ship combat and the other a grid-based tactical system for squad vs. squad fights. It will also have "nine waifus" for you to romance. The fact that they use the word "waifu" about 15 times on the Kickstarter page probably tells you everything you need to know about Subverse's tone.

There was no doubt on the PS5 delay. Not a console player myself, but the console industry tends to wait 2-3 years until the tech they "want" to use has matured a little. By the time the PS5 and other 9th Gen consoles come out, they will be "obsolete" regarding the hardware, as the next gen tech will be out for the PC master race.

But on the other side, game developers are going to be hard pressed to not support AMD hardware for PC's, given this is now the 2nd generation of consoles that will be using AMD exclusively.
