Thread: Aquired Tastes

  1. #1

    Default Aquired Tastes

Ok so I have a theory that if you enjoy one robust falvor you will also develop other robust aquired tastes.

So my theory is if you like Blue Cheese, you will also like a good red wine "Cabernet " or Guiness, along with many other robust flavors. Now this does not apply if you have not tasted all three.

Let's see how my theory plays out, any comments from fellow tasters?

I love blue cheese, always have. But have not been able to develop a taste for any wine outside of a reisling or zin. Also don not like Guinness, or anything stronger than an amber (a few IPAs). I'm Norse, so we are supposed to like things with powerful flavors, but I'm kinda lame in that area, I guess. Except for cheese.

I love blue cheese's and I also like the dark stuff (Guinness) I'd go so far as to say I adore it, extra cold though. I also love red wine.
I can drink white wine but I prefer the red stuff, esp Italian Barolo, but that's expensive. The only wine, white or red that I won't touch is French, I don't do French products at all cos I hate the French. The funny thing is that most spicy things I don't like but I love really strong cheeses like the Danish Blue, Gorgonzola, Stilton (that's tame) etc.

Thanks Metal for this Awesome sig.

Wine tastes funny, but its ok. I love blue cheese.

Obviously I am not a drinker though, since I am 16 and I also don't drink anything other than juice and water.

BUT, I do think that aquired tastes don't exist.

Beer and crack are acquired tastes, along with smooth mentholated cigarettes.
