    Default Teamspeak Instructions and Troubleshooting

    INSTALL

We use Teamspeak 2. That's right read it again, Teampeak 2

You can download teamspeak from here. Or here. Make sure you have downloaded Teamspeak2 and NOT Teamspeak3. Scroll to the bottom and click Proceed to download. Read the TeamSpeak End User License Agreement and when you get to the bottom select the I Agree option and press the Click here to proceed button. Save the file to your Desktop.

Open the Installer. Continue clicking Next until it starts installing. In a short amount of time it should finish installing. You can find the icon on your Desktop.

    CONNECTING

Open Teamspeak. Select Connection from the top, then select Connect. Make sure you are on the Local Addressbook tab, right-click in the open white space and select Add Server.

Now you can fill in the right side.

    Guests:

The most important thing to remember when connecting as a guest is to have the Anonymous option checked. You dont need a username or password even if you have a forum account. That feature is only available to clan members.

    Clan Members:

Your nickname MUST follow the same format. |Fever| YourName |RANK|. If your name does not fit these guidelines you may be kicked from the server and asked to fix it. Make sure you have spaces where they should be! If you are not sure what the short form of your rank is then you can find out in this post. The lines around Fever and RANK can be created by holding Shift and pressing the button above the Enter/Return key.

Make sure you have checked Registered and enter your FORUM username and FORUM password in the following 2 boxes. If you are having trouble just connect as a guest and one of our Admins will help you.

Hit Connect at the bottom and you should find yourself in our Teamspeak server!

If the teamspeak client tells you that the server is offline try connect with 66.225.232.194:8767 as the address.

    CONFIGURING

Some people find it annoying to always hear the "Member Joined", "Member Left", "Player Kicked", etc. And trust me it does get very annoying. But there is a way to fix it. And this fix is so awesome that you will even be immune to the occasional spammer.

First, select Settings from the top, then select Options. Go to the Sound Notifications tab.

There are a few different ways you can turn off the notifications. The easiest way is to check the Disable all sounds check-box, click Apply, then click OK.

You can also turn the volume down so the notifications are not as loud and thus less annoying.

If you are an SA you need to hear when new players join so you can help them. But this doesn't mean you need to listen to all the annoying notifications. You can selectively turn off any of the notifications. As an example we will turn off the notification when clan members join. Click the plus sign next to Joining and leaving channels to show the hidden options. Click Registered player joined.

Now press the Clear button to remove the path to the sound file. Click Apply to save. You will no longer hear that annoying notification. While you at it you might as well do the same to Registered player left. Note to SAs that you must keep Player joined on so you can hear when unregistered guests join our teamspeak server.

If you make a mistake a clear a sound that you still want to hear you can press the Default button and it will return the path to the sound file. Now just click Apply.

    TROUBLESHOOTING

    No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline or maybe teamspeak is not running on it

This error can happen for a number of reasons. The most common cause of this problem is the teamspeak server being offline. If this is the case you cant do anything but wait for the Leaders to get it back online. But we try to keep the server running 24/7 so lets make sure this is the problem before just sitting back and waiting. To check and see if the server really is offline just visit our homepage(www.feverclan.com) or click the TS icon in the chat bar. It will show you who is currently connected to teamspeak. If the status show that the server is offline then indeed there is nothing you can do. But it says the server is online and there are many members connected? Then just you are having trouble connecting.

The problem could be with the server address. In the past people have had trouble connecting using ts.feverclan.com:8767. You can also try connecting with 66.225.232.194:8767. If that doesnt work then there is either a problem with your internet connection(in which case I cannot help you) or you have been banned from the server.
